Miral Bhakta PT, DPT

Miral Bhakta PT, DPT
Miral Bhakta grew up and has spent a majority of her life in South Los Angeles. As a child, she always craved to help others and became curious about finding ways to provide care to those around her. Upon completing her Bachelor’s of Science in Biology from California State University Long Beach, she volunteered at a local Physical Therapy clinic where she realized how she could combine her passion with her career. She recently earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Chapman University where she was exposed to a variety of care from pediatrics to geriatrics and from neurological to orthopedics.
Miral is thrilled to join the Progressive Physical Therapy team in Tarzana and play her part to serve the needs of the community. She is very detail oriented who deeply values understanding her patient’s unique needs to provide the necessary treatment and care as part of her individualized patient care. She also hopes to set an example and provide mentorship for aspiring Physical Therapists.

Doctor of Physical TherapyAs a lifelong participant in multiple sports, Andrei has always been drawn to high level competition and became professionally pulled toward injury recovery and health promotion. To this, Andrei earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy from Chapman University after completing his undergraduate degree in Kinesiology and exercise science at Sonoma State University. During his time at Chapman University, he had the opportunity to gain high level physical therapy experience in multiple outpatient orthopedic settings and hospital-based care. After completion of his academics and clinical experiences he joined the Progressive Physical Therapy team to further develop and incorporate his passion for exercise as medicine. Andrei promotes evidence-based practice for rapid recovery across the spectrum of pain, injury and movement dysfunction. Andrei is a strong advocate for advanced wellness and lifelong health promotion well beyond injury recovery.

Clinical Director, Doctor of Physical TherapyDr. Bill Carey earned his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Stockton University in New Jersey. His passion for PT was ignited early in his career and he strives to bring friendly atmosphere and superior care to field of Physical Therapy. Bill is exited to call Progressive Physical Therapy his new home, and looks forward to joining the Tarzana community. Bill also plans to complete an Orthopedic Clinical Specialist Certification in the coming years, as well as continuing education in manual therapy and ultrasound imaging to further the advancement of the practice and improve his patient care. He currently has advanced education in spinal manipulation, vestibular disorders, and vertigo treatments.
Bill is a new resident of Los Angeles as he just arrived from New Jersey with his wife, Emma, and his dog Kai. In his free time he enjoys playing hockey and golf, is an avid musician, playing acoustic guitar, and enjoys traveling the globe.

Doctor of Physical TherapyLaura Cooper has been practicing physical therapy for almost 28 years. During that time, she has created a mosaic approach to treatment for each individual patient drawing from her manual therapy certification, functional movement background and appreciation that education helps everyone in the rehab process. Laura graduated with a PT degree from Marquette University in the 1993 and will be complete her transitional doctorate later this year. She loves working in orthopedics and how every patient is unique. She has an extensive continuing education background that includes functional movement assessments, running evaluations, manual therapy, Pilates and therapeutic pain neuroscience.

Doctor of Physical TherapyNicole graduated with her doctorate in PT from CSUN in 2015. Her years playing soccer and dealing with subsequent injury lead her to pursue a profession in Physical Therapy. These same experiences have developed her love of manual therapy, orthopedics and sports rehab. Her warm and nurturing nature make her a perfect pediatric therapist and she has collected many baby hugs along the way from grateful infants and parents.

Doctor of Physical TherapyJohna earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Therapy from University of Evansville. She later obtained her Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy from A.T. Still University. As a precursor to her physical therapy training, she studied athletic training at Purdue University. She is certified in manual therapy from University of St. Augustine and has been a Board-Certified Orthopedic Specialist for over 20 years. She is certified in Pilates for rehabilitation and has trained as a professional yoga therapist.
During her career, she has had the pleasure of working in a variety of settings including Cirque du Soleil, Walt Disney World, Orlando Regional Medical Center – Level 1 Trauma Center, Orlando Ballet, Miami City Ballet, The Rockettes, Camp Pendleton, the Centennial Olympic Games, American Cup Gymnastics, and the FIFA World Cup. These experiences have provided for the collection of a varied and unique rehabilitation perspective.
She is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association, the National Athletic Trainers Association, and is a lab instructor for Myopain Seminars.

Doctor of Physical TherapyZach earned his Doctorate in Physical Therapy at Azusa Pacific University following completion of his bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology-Exercise Science at California State University Northridge. After completing the Doctoral program, Zach has completed a yearlong residency in Orthopedic Physical Therapy at Kaiser Permanente-Panorama City.
Zach is passionate about working with patients to achieve their functional goals utilizing a combination of movement education, manual therapy and therapeutic exercises. In his freetime, he enjoys playing volleyball, basketball and being outdoors

Cody earned his Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology with a concentration in Exercise Science from CSU Monterey Bay. He then went on to the University of St. Augustine to received his Doctorate in Physical Therapy. Cody grew up playing football, basketball, running track, and earning his black belt in Tae Kwon Do. Physical therapy helped his stay active in the activities that he loved and ignited his own passion for the profession. He now takes an active and evidence based approach to determining each patient’s needs and helps them return to the activities that they love. You might find Cody outside of the clinic spending time with his wife, rock climbing, at the movies, or reading a good book.

Regional Director, Doctor of Physical TherapyChristian earned his Doctorate in Physical Therapy at Western University of Health Sciences following completion of his bachelor’s degree at the University of California – Los Angeles. Additionally, Christian has completed a post-doctoral residency in Orthopedic Physical Therapy with the Manual Therapy Institute. During his clinical practice and studies, he developed a strong passion for orthopedic rehabilitation, manual therapy, and movement science. Christian is a Board Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist.
Christian believes in a holistic approach to physical therapy with an eclectic blend of manual intervention, patient involvement, and movement science. With a diverse background of study and practice, Christian has earned his reputation as an expert in areas including non-operative care, post-operative care, balance, ergonomics, and functional capacity assessments. Building professional relationships in a caring and supportive manner are of the utmost importance to him. You can rely on Christian to successfully tailor each plan of care to meet the needs and interests of each patient.
Christian serves as Regional Director of Progressive Physical Therapy and Clinical Director of the Granada Hills location

Doctor of Physical TherapyEvan earned his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from California State University, Northridge and joined the Progressive Physical Therapy Team shortly afterward. Evan has continuing clinical experience working in Level – 1 trauma settings as well as his primary orthopedic experience. Additionally, he has continued development and education in the treatment of neurological disorders, balance dysfunction and vestibular compromise. Evan serves as both a clinician and a community / professional resource for individuals with a wide variety of afflictions and presentations. He prides himself in the constant pursuit of knowledge and the integration of knowledge into an effective and personalized treatment plan. Evan is committed to the rapid achievement of long-term solutions for his patients.

Hannah Haworth PTA

Hannah graduated from University of Arizona in 2020 with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Physiology and a minor in Nutritional Sciences. Soon after, she attended Pima Medical Institute’s Physical Therapist Assistant program where she was able to gain enough knowledge and experience to pass her board certification exams early. After she graduated, she moved back to her hometown of Los Angeles and began working as a PTA for Progressive Physical Therapy. Hannah has experience in outpatient orthopedic rehabilitation from her clinical rotations and enjoys applying her interest in manual therapy and hands-on techniques to the ever-changing patient population. Outside of work, she enjoys reading, spending time outdoors, and spoiling her 3-legged cat, Mayo.

Doctor of Physical TherapyJean earned her Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from George Fox University, Oregon. Following graduation, she returned to sunny California to begin her career. Jean has cultivated her client relation skills in diverse settings, working with individuals from various ethnicities, socioeconomic backgrounds, and fitness levels. Her passion lies in establishing connections with people from all walks of life and empowering them to attain functional independence through personalized care and evidence-based practices. Outside of work, you might find Jean enjoying a matcha at a local cafe, hiking with her dog on a nearby trail, or relaxing at the beach—perhaps even all three on the same day!

Physical TherapistMegan first graduated from Azusa Pacific University with a degree in Biology. She then earned her Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy from Western University of Health Science. She has advanced clinical knowledge and experience in multiple areas of physical therapy from geriatrics and toward her primary work in orthopedics. She has continued her diverse development and education with knowledge and training in neurological disorders, sports and athletics, post-op patients, and is working towards a specialty in Pelvic Health. As an avid learner, she supports her development of the latest skills and techniques within the field of Physical Therapy – which includes the detailed work of staying up to date on the latest research and treatment options. Megan ensures her patients are receiving evidence based and current treatments tailored to each person’s needs and goals. She is excited to be apart of the Progressive Physical Therapy team in Tarzana and meet the needs of this diverse community.

Associate Director, Doctor of Physical TherapyRyan earned his Doctorate in Physical Therapy at New York University following completion of his bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology at Arizona State University. Ryan has had experience in multiple outpatient orthopedic settings throughout his education and has worked with patients of all ages and backgrounds. Ryan focuses on a holistic health and fitness model approach to build individual treatment protocols for each patient. His emphasis on creating patient rapport and treating with compassion has helped Ryan provide the quality of care you deserve. Ryan currently serves as the Associate Director at the Palmdale location.

Doctor of Physical TherapyDr. Nellie Mojab is a dedicated advocate for physical health and wellness, driven by the transformative power of movement and rehabilitation. She earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) from the University of Southern California’s Division of Biokinesiology and Physical Therapy, where she also co-facilitated leadership workshops for faculty and graduate students. Nellie completed her undergraduate studies in Exercise Science and Sport Medicine at California Lutheran University, graduating as valedictorian.
Throughout her academic journey, Nellie gained extensive clinical experience across a variety of settings, including outpatient orthopedic clinics, pediatric services, and hospital-based care facilities. Her rotations included prestigious institutions such as Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital, Keck Medicine of USC, and Northridge Hospital Medical Center.
Nellie is deeply committed to evidence-based practice and patient-centered care, focusing on optimizing recovery and promoting lifelong health.
In addition to her academic and clinical achievements, Nellie is an enthusiastic volunteer, dedicating her time to projects like patient support at Providence Tarzana Medical Center and a variety of community initiatives. Her efforts have been recognized with numerous scholarships and awards, including the USC Doctor of Physical Therapy Program Scholarship and CLU Burton Thorpe Memorial Scholarship.
Nellie’s approach to physical therapy combines advanced wellness strategies with a focus on empowering patients to achieve their health goals through comprehensive, individualized care.

Physical Therapist AssistantJocelyn graduated from Cal State Northridge with her Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology in 2014. She found her passion for the art and science of Physical Therapy after attending rehabilitation and physical therapy herself for various soccer injuries and sports injuries. She went on to complete her Physical Therapist Assistant schooling at Casa Loma College, graduating with high honors. Combining her passion for physical therapy with her experience in Pilates-based physical therapy and manually assisted techniques such as Graston, Jocelyn achieves rapid results with her patients. She works with patients of all backgrounds and prides herself in treating each patient like family. Jocelyn is available Monday through Friday for treatment and works in conjunction with the primary Physical Therapists plan of care.
