Gait & Balance Training
If you’re unable to walk, having difficulty walking, or struggling with improper balance, gait and balance training can be an excellent option to improve your ability to walk on your own and prevent falls.
At Progressive PT, we can assess both your gait and balance in order to tailor an exercise program that can improve both. These exercises often involve improving motion in your lower extremity joints, developing muscle memory, improving strength and balance, improving posture, and mimicking the repetitive nature of your legs that naturally occurs when walking.
You might benefit from gait & balance training if you’ve experienced:
- Stroke
- Spinal cord injuries
- Joint injuries
- Hip or knee replacement surgery
- Neurological and musculoskeletal disorders
- Leg amputation
- Previous falls
- Weak muscles
- Limited mobility
- Difficulty walking or remaining steady when standing
- Vision problems
- Numbness in your lower extremities
