Spinal Disorders
Neck, upper and lower back pain can be caused by a variety of spinal disorders.
At Progressive PT, physical therapy is directed initially at reducing your pain by use of various modalities, such as electrical stimulation, ultrasound, light, or traction. Emphasis is then placed on restoring function of the joints and muscles involved.
Treatment may consist of posture exercises, flexibility exercises, joint mobilizations techniques, massage or soft tissue mobilization, strengthening exercises, and instruction in movement strategies to avoid aggravation of symptoms.
If you’re suffering with the following spinal disorders, physical therapy may be able to help:
- Muscle strain/sprains
- Joint injury or dysfunction
- Disc lesions
- Spinal stenosis
- Nerve compression
