Sprains & Strains
Sprains and strains are common injuries that often result from falls, twists, or overuse. A sprain is a stretch or tear of a ligament, while a strain is an injury to a muscle or tendon.
At Progressive PT, we’ll identify the cause of your pain or injured tissue. After discovering the source, we will advise treatments to promote healing and reduce your symptoms in the injured area. Our focus is to keep you mobile and strengthen your body so you can avoid reinjury in the future.
Though approaches may vary based on the degree of injury, common treatments we provide include:
- Therapeutic exercises to stretch and strengthen muscles
- Soft tissue and/or joint mobilization
- Heat and/or ice as needed to control swelling and pain
